Welcome to Olympus, a majestic contemporary estate masterfully designed and perfectly positioned on a private oceanfront lot in Rum Point. 

Designed with dramatic white angled walls, three levels of outdoor entertaining spaces, and an oceanfront living area with 40 feet of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass, Olympus is breathtakingly gorgeous.  Perched on an elevated ridge, it is not difficult to see how the current owner came upon the name Olympus.  At almost 8,000 sq. ft. of living space for only 4-5 bedrooms, each room is a grand statement and offers views of the sea, the pool and the expertly-landscaped grounds.  

The L-shaped cerulean-blue swimming pool has tiled patios on both sides.  The unique design of the house creates numerous shaded areas from which to escape the Caribbean sun's rays. The third floor roof deck includes a private sundeck and open garden, plus a covered outdoor kitchen and dining area for sunset dinners, or late night cocktails. The owner has ordered a suite of new outdoor furniture for the decks and entertaining spaces.

The indoor features of Olympus rival the outdoors.  Upon entering the villa, the modern floating staircase and tropical-wood wall of doors will draw your attention straight to the oceanfront greatroom that opens to an ipe deck, white sand backyard and the shimmering Caribbean waters beyond.  A very large flatscreen TV focuses the living area, as well as another in the "media room" for gaming and home theatre use.   Each bedroom also has an integrated wall-mounted TV with SONOS sound bar, Cable, Netflix and Apple TV. A furnished small home office with complimentary WiFi is available for guests needing to conduct business or connect with clients while on-island. Technology is in long supply at this villa.

Olympus can comfortably sleep 8 adults in 4 en-suite master bedrooms, as well as accommodate another adult couple or 2 children on a Temperpedic foam mattress (pull out sofa) in the media room. Another 2 children on a pull-out sofa in the first-floor master queen family suite makes 12 total; 10 adults maximum.

SECOND FLOOR

  • South master king suite with flatscreen TV (with Netflix & Apple TV only) and hidden roll-down privacy shades. Suite opens to glass-railed west terrace with unobstructed ocean views. Private bathroom with shower, chest-of-drawers, vanity with large mirror and plenty of closet space. 
  • West queen suite that also opens to the west terrace and includes wall-mounted TV (with Netflix & Apple TV only), private bathroom with shower and  hidden roll-down privacy shades.
  • North oceanfront master king suite with floor-to-ceiling glass, 180 degree views, pull-out sofa and overstuffed reading chair. This suite also opens to both east and west terraces, has a private bathroom with luxury bathtub and shower, a large walk-in closet, flatscreen TV (with Netflix & Apple TV only) and hidden roll-down privacy shades.
  • Enormous east terrace for entertaining, sunrise yoga sessions. Chaises on order. Exterior stairs to the pool below.
  • Glass-railed stairs to the rooftop garden, outdoor kitchen and entertaining space.

Beach Notes

The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman. 

The homes on the oceanfront in Rum Point offer great reef protected snorkeling.  The beaches usually have plenty of white sand, but also can have spots of rocky “ironshore” with natural rock formations. 

The closer you get to Rum Point, usually the sandier the beach as well as swimming. Either way, with the abundant marine life we have in the water, you will want to wear pool shoes or fins for foot protection.  The prevailing trade winds from the east also make flying insects less of a pest—many of the homes in Rum Point don’t even need a screened porch.

Olympus has a very sandy water entrance for swimming, however there are critters so please wear foot protection.  We do get tidal seagrasses on the beach.  The owners hire a service that will rake the beach weekly to make a clear path to the water for snorkeling, kayaking and swimming.

The big draw to this area is the proximity to the Rum Point Club, a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach, many watersports, a fine-dining restaurant, beach bar & grill, a gift shop and pick-up beach volleyball games. Also nearby is the Kaibo Yacht Club restaurant, bar and marina.

 

The 10% Guest Service Fee includes your Silver Thatch Membership.

First, the house is absolutely amazing. The open floor plan, windows & sliding doors for ocean views, beautiful finishes and stunning rooftop deck. Truly an amazing villa. Since it is in the Rum Point area, it is a distance from George Town but with this villa and the amenities, you do not need to leave. Second, the service was amazing and went off without a glitch. When we arrived, the villa was fully stocked with all the pre-orders we requested (highly recommend) and it was a painless check-in/out process with the property manager. Silver Thatch Guest Services, especially Leah, were super helpful the entire time and made the stay at Olympus very enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Was a perfect getaway for our group. Like no other house in Rum Point. Spacious living with room for 8 adults. Highly active coral reef right outside the house was a pleasant surprise. Would snorkel each day as a group. Understand this property is secluded compared to the busy areas of the island. Will have to cool with hanging on property unless you want to be driving a lot. Took a boat from that side of the island to Camana Bay for dinner. That was very cool. All in all would 100% stay in this property and recommend to anyone looking at homes to rent in the area.

Olympus was incredible! The house had awesome electronics and set up very user friendly, lighting and layout were beautiful. Best home (villa) layout that we have stayed in so far. Steve the property manager was so friendly and nice. He made sure we had everything we need right when we need it. Loved this relaxing trip!

Group of 8 adults from Houston area stayed at Olympus in early March. We can not say enough about the home. We travel to different destinations every year and Olympus and Grand Cayman are by far our favorite villa and destination. Friendly people, safe location, wonderful beach, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, proximity to Rum Point and restaurants. The list of pros go on and on. Only con would be we had to leave! Interior is tastefully decorated with no clutter. Room for everyone to spread out. Each bedroom was quiet, comfortable and had its own bathroom. The patios around the pool, second floor and roof top were stunning. Depending on the time of day, there was always sun or shade - to suit our needs. The roof top patio was stunning views and we spent hours up there. We could see across the island with the George Town cruise ships on the horizon! We highly recommend Olympus, and thank Grand Cayman Villas for all help in planning our trip. The new welcome center was enjoyable and we used the gym a couple times! The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions and planning help. Best vacation ever. we will be back to Grand Cayman and Olympus!!!!!
