The Kai Life is a fully-renovated home and sits directly between the island's Bioluminescent Bay and the beautiful Rum Point Club. Walk across the street to restaurants (reopening mid-2023), a beach bar, watersports, and a wonderful barefoot swimming beach.

The Island Houses are a resort neighborhood of 18 units at the top of Bio Bay, each with its own 2-story screened lanai.

All units share a large swimming pool with a sundeck. This is resort living, but with fewer footprints and more privacy.

The Kai Life is spacious and airy with elegant comfortable furnishings. The property includes an upgraded fiber internet connection perfect for remote working professionals. 

The ground floor is open concept and includes a living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a guest powder room, a reading nook with a sleeper sofa, and a laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer.

Our guests tend to spend many hours outside in the lanai. A private charcoal grill and outdoor shower are behind the lanai.

Balconies from each second-floor bedroom open to the screened lanai to allow the house to be opened up during the cooler winter months. Screened windows on the front also allow a breeze to flow through the house when air-conditioning is not needed.

Sleeping Arrangements

  • Primary Suite: upper-level, waterfront, king bed, private screened balcony, ensuite bath with walk-in shower.
  • Guest Suite: upper-level, waterfront, two full-sized beds, private screened balcony, ensuite bath with shower/tub combination.
  • Additional sleeping: queen sleeper sofa in the lower level reading nook.

Access to amazing natural surroundings is at your back door overlooking popular Bioluminescent Bay. This enchanting natural wonder comes alive at night with sparkling aquatic life that can be enjoyed while kayaking at night, or you can hire one of the local tour companies for a guided tour. 

Our guests also easily walk to the Kaibo Marina and restaurants for additional watersports, dining options, a coffee shop, and to catch the Cayman Ferry over to Camana Bay and Seven Mile Beach.

Beach Notes

The Island Houses enjoy a smooth sandy beach with no rocks. These 9 clusters of 2 villas are staggered along the water's edge at the top of the Cayman Kai Cove with quiet shallow water, and a shared freshwater pool.

The water here is shallow with a soft bottom and not really suitable for snorkeling or swimming when the best water is directly across the street at the famous Rum Point Club.

The surrounding area offers a wide variety of activities with the Rum Point Beach Club located within 200 yards. Rum Point offers a spectacular white sandy beach with vibrant snorkeling, plus shady hammock spots, watersports, two restaurants, and a beach bar. Chaises are plentiful and first-come, first-served.

Also near Rum Point is the Kaibo Yacht Club restaurant, bar, and marina. Just a great neighborhood dotted with million-dollar oceanfront villas.

Hop on the Cayman ferry at the Kaibo Marina, and sail across the North Sound to Camana Bay for a day trip of shopping, dining, and much, much more. There's also easy access from Camana Bay to Seven Mile Beach and all the restaurants, bars and activities in the area.

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Crown owns up to the high water mark.

The shoreline quality behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website due to shifting tides and weather patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally.

Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency over the years during the summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival. 

Should sargassum weed be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation.

After our previous vacation rental property was sold and the new owners did not honor our reservation, we luckily were able to rent The Kai Life which did not disappoint! The front door overlooks the ocean and Rum Point Club and your back door the biobay. As we prefer the quiet side of the island, The Kai Life was a perfect place for our family of four. Given its great location we snorkeled daily along the north and east shores of the island, as well as, kayaked the bay. When we weren\'t in the ocean we made use of the community pool and usually were the only family there. We had excellent communication with the owners, managers, and villa agency. When a small plumbing problem occurred, the manager was there within the hour to fix! The Island House is well appointed with all the necessary kitchen appliances, paper products and beach accessories. The furnishings are tasteful and very comfortable. When we visit the island again, we will surely consider returning to The Kai Life!

Perfect sized Villa for 3 adults and 3 children. Bioluminescent Bay right in the back yard for evening Kayak adventures. Great restaurant near by. Excellent fully furnished including Kayaks. The place was ready to go. At one point we just needed an extra set of sheets, sent an email and before we got back the bed was already made for us. Top notch service and amenities.

We loved this fun place. We were the only people in the oool - ever. We kayaked in bio bay a couple of times which was so fun. The feeling of home along with all the comforts of home made our stay super excellent.

Our family of 4 had a fantastic week at The Kai Life. The screened in patio that led right to the beach and pool was so convenient. Being across from Rum Point is a huge selling point as the beach is perfect for little ones. We spent mornings at the beach at rum point, afternoons at the pool and evenings kayaking through bioluminescence on the bay. The home was decorated beautifully and practically. The property manager was quick to respond to us when we had an issue with an appliance. She was friendly, helpful and went out of her way to resolve the issue. We have stayed in similar condos like this before in Cayman and this one is the complete package and our favourite! We will be back!

We had two couples stay at the Kai Life #7 on Rum Point and it could not have been more perfect. Literally right across the street from Rum Point, the beach and bars/restaurants. Bonus that we had our own beach in the bio bay and a private pool as well. Property was very well maintained and perfect for the 4 of us. Silver Thatch Guest Services was top-notch upon arrival, departure and any inquiries in between. Great information and extremely helpful. Same for Grand Cayman Villas. Every entity involved was great! We love being away from the crowded and congested 7-mile beach area. The kayak was a great bonus to be able to take the bay to Starfish Point or Kaibo for a meal or cocktail. A perfect vacation!

Our family of 4 loved our stay. Great location, near Rum Point. The kids could walk back and forth safely. Loved the food there. The beach BBQ was a special treat. The home is beautiful inside and the furniture and bedding comfy. We recommend The Kai Life and will return another time!

Cute home. Clean and crisp. Well taken care of. Location close to Rum Point and Kaibo. Starfish Point just down the road. We walked there twice. Sandy beach and we met some nice families by the pool. Recommend renting a car and driving around the island! Thank you Grand Cayman Villas for helping us pick the right property for our group! Highly recommend.

We celebrated our Thanksgining Holiday in Grand Cayman. We considered 5-6 different properties and settled on The Kai Life due to interior quality of the home and location. We could not have been happier with our choice. Guest Services staff was a bonus as was the complimentary snorkel gear, cooler and bluetooth speaker. Great part of the island. Quiet, but plenty of activities!!!

  • 7 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Christmas and New Year's week.
  • Christmas & New Year's dates are split into two rental periods. Please inquire with your travel dates prior to booking.
  • Shorter stays may be available but subject to a higher cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking.
  • Must be 25 years or older to book and must occupy the property during the entire stay.

Villa Cleaning & Sanitation

All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.

Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.

A rental car is highly recommended. Taxi cabs are unreliable and expensive outside of town and Seven Mile Beach. Plus, there is no Uber or Lyft on the island
