5BR-Ocean Kai - Cayman Kai
Ocean Kai was recently built on the oceanfront in Cayman Kai. Spanning over 5,500 sq ft of lofty living space, with tall ceilings and open concept design, Ocean Kai sleeps 10 guests across 5 bedrooms each with private ensuite bath.
Upon entering the great room there is an immediate wow factor as your eyes take in the ocean views through a wall of glass doors and windows looking out over the pool deck. The open design living area has a cathedral ceiling accentuating the home’s size and grandeur. A mezzanine floor with glass railings serves as a media room and has the best elevated ocean views throughout the entire home.
A wide oceanfront veranda overlooks an enormous 38' private pool with steps leading down to your own sandy beach. The veranda is furnished with plush sectional seating and an outdoor dining area.
Three of Ocean Kai’s five bedroom suites are oceanfront with french doors opening to the veranda and pool deck. The east master suite features a king size four poster bed and ensuite bath with double vanity, large soaking bathtub and separate walk-in shower. The west master suite comes furnished with a king size sleigh bed and ensuite bath with double vanity and enormous walk-in shower. The middle bedroom suite also comes furnished with a king bed and ensuite bath with dual vanity, large bathtub and separate shower. Towards the front of the house along the west wing is the queen master bedroom with sleigh bed and ensuite bath with dual vanity, large soaking tub, and separate shower. On the east wing at the front of the house is a twin suite with double twin beds and ensuite bath with walk-in shower.
Ocean Kai’s kitchen is a vacationing chef’s paradise. Featuring marble granite countertops, all-white cabinets, and stainless steel appliances guests can whip up a home-cooked meal, or hire a private chef for dinner duty. Dishes, cookware, cutlery, and utensils all come provided. Guests can choose to eat in the formal dining room, or step out onto the veranda for a night of al fresco dining. A propane grill is also available off the pool deck for island cookouts.

Ocean Kai is only a mile east of the famous Rum Point Club and enjoys a sandy beach and excellent snorkeling. The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east, so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman. The homes on the oceanfront in Rum Point offer great reef protected snorkeling. The beaches usually have plenty of white sand, but also can have spots of rocky “ironshore” with natural rock formations. The closer you get to Rum Point, usually the sandier the beach as well as swimming. Either way, with the abundant marine life we have in the water, you will want to wear pool shoes or fins for foot protection. The trade winds from the east also make flying insects less of a nuisance—many of the homes in Rum Point don’t even need a screened porch.
The big draw to this area is the proximity to the Rum Point Club, a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach, many water sports, a restaurant bar and grill, a gift shop, and pick-up beach volleyball games. Also near Rum Point is the Kaibo Yacht Club restaurant, bar and marina.
Lastly, we have 2 large resorts in the east end (Morritts and The Reef) that offer manicured beaches as well as restaurants, a modern grocery store, liquor store, gift shops, a Subway sandwich shop, and a cafe/pastry shop. These two resorts also offer scuba, snorkel trips, jet skis, windsurfing, kiteboarding, ocean front pools and bar service.

Beautiful house on the northside of the island, about 1.5 miles from Rum Point and 2.5 to Kaibo. The view over the pool is amazing and the house is roomy and spacious with 5 great bedrooms. We had 5 couples and it was plenty big. We probably could have used another refrigerator but there are two smaller beverage refrigerators which was very helpful. It was my first time staying on that side of the island- I had always been at Seven Mile Beach so it was a little different, a bit windier, but great to explore the Northside and the East End. It was wonderful having Rum Point so close, as it is one of my favorite places, and Kaibo and Starfish Point were terrific. The house managers were extremely helpful and responsive as well. All in all, a wonderful stay at a beautiful place.

Service before arrival was great. Very responsive and helpful during planning. Manager called to check on us soon after our arrival. The space was awesome and all furnishings and appliances were high quality. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer home and location. Would have been nice to have the piles of seaweed removed. Overall a great vacation on a beautiful island.

If you are debating, don't just go it is amazing. The furniture and sleeping layout is great. We had another couple and their 2 kids with us and it worked perfectly. Although would be a great place for couples as well. Highly recommend!!!!

This beautiful 5 bedroom home was perfect for our 10 person family. Three bedrooms have beautiful beach views. Everything works well ! The a/c is top notch. Bathrooms clean and perfect .Great kitchen .Tv's and wifi top notch. Lovely pool overlooking the beach. If you are looking for a lot of action ,like at 7 mile beach ,this property may not be for you. Its about a 45 minute drive to 7 mile beach. That said there are numerous fun restaurants within 10 minutes. An adequate grocery store is about 12 minutes away. The fun Rum Point area is about 1 1/2 mile away. If peace ,serenity ,and beauty is for you, this is your place,

Despite travel interruptions (Delta cancellations) and missing the first two days of our trip, we had a great time. Grand Cayman Villas and Condos worked with us to reschedule several activities and were gracious enough to offer us an extension of our stay. They delivered outstanding service and attention when we needed help. We had arranged for grocery delivery from Cayman Shoppers and all was there when we arrived. Highly recommend them. Also, we had arranged the have a chef (Chef Steph) prepare a meal for us one night and it was delicious (very generous portions and probably the best value of any meal we had while there). As for the house...spotless, very well appointed (better than the pictures), comfortable and terrific location. Everything worked as it should with zero issues. You could move into this house and be very happy. The 25+ mph winds made it impossible to enjoy the ocean but we took full advantage a very nice pool area. We had four adults and two children in our group and it worked perfectly. Being close to the Rum Point area was also a big plus...provided access to activities, food, etc. Overall, an A+!

We just left our week long vacation with 4 couples...Ocean Kai was PERFECT for our group! The house itself was gorgeous. Very Clean, plenty of space to relax in, stocked supplies in the kitchen, comfy beds, great pool. Best part-THAT VIEW! It was amazing! We had massages booked at the Villa one day- (so relaxing). Booked Silver Thatch Charters for a great boat excursion (snorkeling and Sting Ray City) George was a GREAT Captain and lots of fun. The boat was top notch and easy to book with the staff of Grand Cayman Villas. The last night we hired a chef to prepare a Fabulous Birthday Dinner. It was perfect in every way! From beginning to end- everything from booking the Villa, on site staff , recommendations etc. were all so friendly and helpful. Hope to be back there again soon. Thank you Jim, Scott and Grace for making this vacation one of our FAVORITES!

We had 8 people in our party and the house handled us all exceptionally well. The bedrooms were spacious and each has its own bathroom. There is a wide assortment of places to relax that include being in the sun or in the shade. The beach was also a great place to relax and get sun. We had hoped to be able to snorkel right off the beach but the water was too shallow. However, the house is within a 3-4 minute drive to Rum Point so we were able to get there easily and take advantage of the water sports they have available. The kitchen is very well equipped and we were able to cook some great meals with the equipment on hand. Really appreciated having the outdoor grill to cook on although we were a little concerned with how much propane was left or we would have used it more. This is a great house for a larger group of people and we would go back at the drop of a hat!

Our group of 4 couples came to Grand Cayman for the first time this January. We thoroughly researched homes and decided to rent Ocean kai. We could not have been happier with our decision. The home was even better than pictures and reviews we read. Plenty of room for everyone, large vaulted ceiling living area and kitchen, fully stocked kitchen, beautiful pool deck, wonderful pool and fantastic beach. Oh and the view ---- mesmerizing. Bedroom were all large and uncluttered. You can tell the owner takes pride in this home and treats it with respect. We had the home pre-stocked with groceries through Eddie at www.caymanshoppers.com and would recommend that!!! Local restaurants we loved - Rum Point, Kaibo Upstairs, Tukka, The Lighthouse and Bombay Chopsticks. We took a private charter to Stingray City - same price as a group boat really - and the captain was fantastic. Took us snorkeling two places with no other boats, to the Stingray Sandbar when there were fewer boats and to Starfish Point to wrap up the afternoon. George at www.silverthatchcharters.com - HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!!! Had massages through Laura at www.perfectlypamperedcayman.com right at the villa! Thats a must!!!! So many other activities - Rum Point, blow holes, Morritts Beach, snorkeling at Spotts and Smith Cove, 7MB for an afternoon, shopping and lunch at Camana Bay, Botanical Gardens - kept us on the move. But our down times at Ocean Kai were the best!!! We have already started planning a repeat trip!

We spent a week at ocean Kai with 2 families, 4 adults and 5 children. Ocean Kai was a wonderful choice for our families. The home was large and the kids could hang out up in the loft area or out in the pool or on the white sandy beach. The water there was fantastic - no waves all week, great snorkeling and easy for the kids to get in and out of the water. No large rocky areas. The home is also only a few minutes from Rum Point where the kids loved to play! Highly recommended to families traveling together.

The bedrooms were spacious and private and quiet. This is a well built and laid out home! The managers suggested Ocean Kai and we are so happy they did. Everything we asked for was there or nearby. Rum Point and Kaibo were close and we spent alot of time at both. We took a charter to the Stingray City sandbar and highly recommend that as well. That was our favorite part of our trip - along with restful time by the pool and on the beach!!! This was our 4th time on Cayman and our favorite home so far. Generally we like to try different homes, but we are done looking. We will be back to Ocean Kai!!!

This is absolutely a terrific property. Much better and livable than pictures on the website show. We (3 couples) plan on returning next year because our one week stay was so amazing. Things we loved the most. 1. Outdoor setup with wonderful views over Caribbean. Absolute privacy and being away from the crowds is incredible. We only saw two people all week. 2. Sitting at outside table for 10 overlooking pool and Caribbean. Lots of great lounge chairs around pool and on sandy beach. Pool was excellent—not large but not too small either. Also a great covered area just off the house with two extremely comfortable sofas. 3. Amazing kitchen with 4 by 8 foot island. Extremely well equipped with plates, glasses and cookware. Top of the line appliances Great wine refrig. Lots of spices, coffee filters, dish soap, etc. Dining room table was large and could seat 10 to 12 people. 4. Great bedrooms. 3 amazing master bedrooms all with vey comfortable King beds and great baths. There is a direct door outside to the pool area and windows that have great views of the Caribbean. Other two bedrooms extremely nice also with wonderful baths and one with queen bed and other with two twins. Continued...

5. Great wifi and cell phone coverage. 6. Close to great restaurants. 5 minutes away. Kaipo Upstairs (#1 restaurant on Grand Cayman) and Kaipo on the Beach Grill. Ate at both two times and took takeout pizza one night. View Over the Edge is 8 miles east and was fantastic. Very friendly service and excellent seafood. They also sell fresh fish to go. 7. Supermarkets. Stop at huge IGA at airport and stock up—you can find everything at this store that you can buy in the USA. Small IGA on east end is 20 minutes away and has great liquor store next door. 8. There is very good snorkeling direct from the beach but it is not super easy like 7 Mile Beach. There is live seaweed right up to the shore area with some rocks. We found good entry point from neighboring property that had a nice sandy area. You must snorkel out about 100 yards to the reef to get to numerous fish. There are still places that you can stand in sand on the way out and very near the reef. You need to snorkel along the reef to find the best coral and fish areas—would have been helpful to have a “best snorkeling map” at the property to guide new visitors. There was also excellent snorkeling right off Rum Point. 9. We went on beach walks everyday.

First of all, let’s get it out there…this house is AMAZING! Our family of 10 (grandparents, ourselves and our college-age kids with their friends) had a relaxing, fun, quality week together on Grand Cayman and Ocean Kai made that happen! We’ve stayed at several vacation rental homes over the years, and Ocean Kai ranked with the very best of them! The layout was great, all bedrooms were clean and well furnished, the living and outdoor areas had plenty of space for our group to just hang out and relax—perfect for us! We especially enjoyed the covered patio by the pool (it was a little rainy when we visited, so that let us continue to enjoy the outdoors.)
The beach access is lovely, with snorkeling just steps from the house. We spent hours relaxing in and around the pool. We also really enjoyed the spacious kitchen, we cooked in most meals and it was well-equipped and had everything we needed. We had dinner twice at Rum Point, don’t miss it! We recommend using the grocery shopping service prior to your arrival, that was a lifesaver for us as we arrived on Saturday evening and there aren’t many businesses open on Sunday. Plus, once you arrive at Ocean Kai, you really won’t want to leave. We got our scuba certifications on this trip, if you are looking for a quality, safe, friendly dive shop be sure to try Dive Tech.
And don’t miss Stingray City, even though we were out there with dozens of cruise ship guests, it is an unforgettable experience. As a final note, the property management for Ocean Kai was spot-on. Professional, friendly, helpful, available…just how we like it!

Kitchen well stocked with dishes but not spices etc. Use of washer / dryer a big plus. A few little problems but taken care of by staff. Phone for local calls was a big help.

The covered porch has a large table with chairs and is a great place for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. The kitchen is well equipped and dining area has a table with 10 chairs. Perfect for eating in when you are not going to Kaibo (on the beach bar or Upstairs Restaurant) and Rum Point Restaurant. We have stayed in a lot of houses in the Cayman Kai area and this is by far one of the best. The house manager does a wonderful job getting everything ready for your arrival and if there is anything else you need, they are just a phone call away. Hope to be able to return soon.
