Best House Value in all of Grand Cayman
Review by TnT
This review is for the 1BR downstairs. We have visited Grand Cayman many times, usually in the autumn and staying on the north side. But since we were visiting for the first time in \"winter,\" we were looking for a rented house on the warmer south side. We did lots of research and can say this is by far the best value for a rented house in all of Grand Cayman!
The view of Frank Sound and the Caribbean is spectacular! The private beach is small but nice and sandy. There is a dock you can walk out on and watch the amazing sunsets. There are two hammocks on the beach under shade. Speaking of shade, the trees are strategically positioned to provide adequate shade throughout the day but not block the water view. The deck spans the entire back of the house, and there are two dining areas outside. There is also a screened-in porch for when the no-seeums come out. But honestly the mosquitoes aren\'t bad, just a little annoying for about an hour right around sunset. The gas grill is handy to avoid eating out expensive dinners every night. You can snorkel right off the private beach. The reef was too far for us to reach, but there are some interesting fish right off shore.
The house itself is nicely decorated. It\'s not the same class as some the houses we\'ve stayed at on north side, but those are 3X the cost. The main downside is the house is right on the main road, so there is traffic noise. But the house is about a mile past the north side turn off, so traffic is only half of what it could be, and it does settle down significantly after dark. The bedroom is on the street side, so no water view. The family room could use a screen door. And sometimes the neighbor turns on his dock light at night, which floods the beach with light (he could really use a light shield). But when the light is off, the stars are blazing.
If you are looking for a private house with a private beach and spectacular water view for a great price, Mahogany Cove is it! Highly recommended.

This place was absolutely great! Like I stated in the title, my wife loved it and she\'s pretty particular! In fact, everyone in our group of seven was beyond pleased and impressed. I was a little nervous due to the lack of reviews when we booked it, so I wanted to make sure it got its due justice so you would have a better feel about this amazing place.
The pictures are an accurate description of the villa. It is simple but clean and comfortable and well kept. The kitchen was stocked with every appliance you might need. We cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner regularly there during our 8 day stay. You have a full size refrigerator. (Stop at Foster’s right by the airport or Hurley’s on your way out) The three bedrooms upstairs are all very private and have their own full bathroom. The room downstairs is literally its own little apartment with full kitchen, living room, etc. This place will hold 8 with complete privacy and 12 will fit quite comfortably if they don\'t mind sleeping on a pull-out couch. The view is excellent and the environment is serene. We hardly saw another soul minus the neighbors on your left who are extremely nice and friendly but also private and will not bug you. This is not a long expansive beach but there is sand and it is nice and clean. Right along the shore there is some rock and it stays fairly shallow (1-3 feet) with some grass so it\'s not going to be a place you\'re probably going to sit in the water. Even being on the south shore there is a nice reef so you won\'t fight too many waves. There was always a nice breeze blowing in from the south/east so mornings and evenings on the outdoor screened-in deck were outstanding. The air conditioning works great and keeps the inside nice and cool. They have nice chairs to lay out on and a little gazebo with a couple hammocks. Near the end of the trip the girls decided to get massages on the beach under the palm trees. The whole place really has a nice vibe.
