Welcome to Far Tortuga. Rentable as a 4BR, 5BR or 6BR Villa, this top-10 most popular villa is located on the northside of the island on the way to Rum Point. Many oceanfront windows flood this villa with plenty of Caribbean sunshine and offer panoramic views. Vaulted ceilings, sliding glass doors to pool, screened porch and open architecture all lend a great island feel to the villa. The villa offers an oceanfront freshwater pool and tiled two-level sun deck, 120' pier with thatched cabana with ladder, an excellent snorkeling reef...all within walking distance of a grocery. The owner even provides a crib, pack-n-play and high chair.
Many repeat guests rebook here each year. Very flexible floorplan and pricing for different sized families (for up to 14 guests total) depending on the number of bedrooms needed. The two detached guest suites (2 twin beds in the east suite, one queen in the west suite) are popular with families needing privacy from their nannies, au-pairs, teenagers, grandparents or the proverbial snoring uncle. These suites are never rented out separely to unrelated parties. The Main 4BR Villa sleeps 8 guests maximum if rented alone. With the 6BR configuration, a futon in the main house may be used for 2 children.

The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east, so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman. The homes on the oceanfront in North Side offer great reef protected snorkeling. The beaches usually have plenty of white sand, but can also have spots of rocky “ironshore” with natural rock formations. The closer you get to Rum Point, usually the sandier the beach as well as swimming. Either way, with the abundant marine life we have in the water, you will want to wear pool shoes or fins for foot protection. The snorkeling from the dock behind Far Tortuga is exquisite.
Just 3 minutes walk west is Chisholm's grocery store, an old-fashioned country store with basics. A mile or so to the east is Over The Edge Restaurant in Old Man Bay serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner right over the water.
The prevailing trade winds from the east make flying insects less of a nuisance—many of the homes on the north coast don’t even need a screened porch. The big draw to this area is the proximity to the Rum Point Club, a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach, many water sports, a restaurant bar and grill, a gift shop and pick-up beach volleyball games. Also nearby is the Kaibo Yacht Club restaurant, bar and marina.
Lastly, there are 2 large resorts in the east end (Morritts and The Reef) that offer manicured beaches as well as restaurants, a modern grocery store, liquor store, gift shops, a Subway sandwich shop, and a cafe/pastry shop. These two resorts also offer scuba, snorkel trips, jet skis, windsurfing, kiteboarding, ocean front pools and bar service.

Great property with all you need. Nice pool. Ocean front. The beach into the ocean is rocky/sharp old coral...recommend water shoes. Nice snorkeling off the dock. Gazebo and hammocks great for relaxing. North side has some great dining...Kurts corner, Rum Point Club, The Lighthouse if you don't want to drive to the other side. More relaxing and quiet on the north side. Highly recommend Sting Ray City with Capt. Marvin and Cayman Kayaks for bioluminescent tour!

Spent Thanksgiving week at Far Tortuga with our three daughters, their spouses and grandchildren. We all had a great time. We had great fun being together sharing in meal preparations, grilling, fresh fish from Georgetown, kids loved the pool, sand and snorkeling. Rum Point was a favorite. Govenors park swimming. Created tons of memories. House was room and comfortable. I was nervous setting this up but it was so easy and no surprises once we got there. Thank you Grand Cayman Villas!

My family, 7 adults and 5 kids, stayed at Far Tortuga (Grand Cayman) this last May 2017. This is our second stay, last one in 2015. As you can figure, we liked it so much, we had to stay there again. We rented vehicles and drove ourselves. There was enough room for everyone. The villa was spotless when we arrived. Kids loved the pool and the adults loved the snorkeling. We ate all but two meals right at Far Tortuga. Kurt's Corner is just and short drive away with great food and great prices. The girls shopped at a Foster's after flying in so by the time we got to the villa we had everything we needed for our stay. A couple of problems came up during our stay; one phone call to the management and there was a repairman knocking at the door within an hour. Great Service! A small grocery store within walking distance and even open on Sundays for a few hours. Other than driving to Kurt's Corner and to the Cayman Yacht Club to hop on a boat for Stingray City; I never left the villa. Two refrigerators, both with ice makers; plenty of towels (Kids use a lot of towels), and washer/dryer really helped our stay. I'd do it again! ';
Thank you for the kind words. Far Tortuga's owener takes great care and pride in the home!

This property and its location is everything you would want when on vacation, or for us, a wedding venue. Its situated along a vibrant reef with its own beach, steps away from a convinience store and 10 mins drive from the worlds most beautiful sunsets. Its a spacious, pristeen property with every mod con you would need with wifi available throughout and onto the beach. Resident colourful fish adorned the reef which stretched out amid very calm seas. Rum point was a ten min drive away which is also a very vibrant friendly spot to socialise, watch beautiful sunsets and eat top notch food, their bbq nights are worth every penny at 25cyd for as much as you can eat. George town was a mere 35mins drive away or 20 mins water taxi away where you have the world famous 7mile beach, and duty free shops. Our favourite spot though was where our ceremony took place, at the gazebo at the end of the pier, an unforgettable experience that we will cherish forever. Starry starry nights adorned the skies each night, totally unpolluted by light, and the many palm trees faboulously festoon any picture you would take..Before our trip we had toured the island over a week just looking for our perfect venue and honeymoon villa, and Far tortuga was deinitely it....

The dock and the snorkeling off of it kept everyone busy for hours on end. With the pool, the dock, and the reef everyone had what they wanted. A great house and a wonderful location.

Our family party of 10, ages one - 40+, had a wonderful time at Far Tortuga. We were comfortable and well entertained during our stay with plenty of space and all the amenities we needed. It took a bit of time to get over to the other side of the island, which was necessary to really enjoy the water given the rough winds we happened to have that week, but it didn't keep us from exploring all that Grand Cayman had to offer. Debanne and Vince were available to answer any questions and quickly connect us to services or information to make our stay extra special. Would highly recommend Far Tortuga for your next getaway!

I cannot say enough about working with Vince on this rental prior to arriving. Then we used McCurley's for our rental & they met us at the airport & transported us to Far Tortuga & our van was waiting for us when we arrived. It was a fantastic way to begin our fabulous vacation. Far Tortuga is exactly as you see on the website. Very clean & all the amenities one would need for their stay there. The pool area is small but there is a big deck with loungers right off to the side. Great snorkeling right off the pier. McCurley's picked us up on our day of departure & took us to the airport. There was no stress at all with trying to find our place or the airport. If you need a roomy home with your own bedroom & private bath, this is the home for you. I will definitely be back someday! We rented transportation through McCurley's, which was perfect getting the group of us back and forth to the airport. They couldn't have been nicer.
We managed our way around the island quite easily, and loved having the grocery store so close by on the North Side. We also had a cook come in one night, and it was fabulous! Your home is amazing! The convenience of having the washer/dryer was a big plus. The pool was another huge plus! It was definitely well used! We loved being on the quiet side of the island, and Rum Point was one of our favorite spots.
I would certainly recommend your property to anyone traveling the Grand Cayman!

Our family shared a week in Far Tortuga in June 2016. There were 8 adults and 6 children and the ages ranged from 71 years to 1 year! What a wonderful place to gather! Everything was just delightful....the well appointed home with the 2 side cottages, the colorful décor, the amazing view, the sunrises and sunsets, the gazebo, the pool. All the various staff with whom we came in contact were so gracious and helpful, the store down the road (Chisholm's) provided very friendly service, and Vince (the owner) gave us lots of good advice about the house and the area. Our young grandchildren so enjoyed exploring the area in the water in front of the house, on the beach, in the "jungle", learning about the culture of the Caymans, riding on the left side of the road, seeing hermit crabs, eels, lobsters, fishing off the dock! It really was a perfect vacation and we wish it was still ahead of us. But maybe we will be able to return sometime. Far Tortuga will be our place to go, for sure!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay, everyone agreed the house was perfect and this was one of our best vacations ever (in a well-traveled group)! The house is clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, spacious, well maintained, and the location can’t be beat! -The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious and clean. We never ran out of hot water! -Kitchen is modern and well equipped. We saved a lot of money by cooking most meals there. -The screened in porch is the ultimate dining spot, great to enjoy the ocean without worrying about bugs while you eat ( we were surprised at how few bugs there were here compared to other tropical vacations). -House was great for kids with multiple ways to contain the 2yo (screened porch, fenced beach yard) -We LOVED the quiet east end location and had easy access to all the activities we wanted to do (Stingrays with Captain Marvin's, Diving with Ocean Frontiers, Night Kayaking with Sweet Spot) and great dining at Tukka and Over the Edge (our 2 favorite restaurants). We did not miss the crowds and tourist traps of George Town at all! -The pier and gazebo are beautiful, and the ladder makes for easy access to snorkel. -The pool is very nice and extremely clean. -The Snorkeling behind the house is truly amazing! We did this for many hours each day; the reef is beautiful and is full of a wide variety of fish and sea critters (even a turtle). -Do be aware, where there is a reef there are rocks, bring your water shoes so you can have fun (as we did) exploring the tide pools and waking on the beach. -We STRONGLY recommend using McCurlies Car Rental and Eddie Ebanks grocery service to make your arrival easy and stress free. -The owner, Vince, is wonderful to work with and responded to all e-mail quickly. This place is on the quiet north side of the island- has a patch of sandy beach, a small pool, and most importantly a dock with a cabana and a hammock (great breezes there), with a ladder down to some pretty fantastic snorkeling. The layout was great for our party of 7- including 2 age 60+ and 2 kids, age 3 and 5. There's a central living area with 2 bedrooms on each end of the main house, didn't need the 2 detached bungalows but took a peek at them. Some parts of the house are a bit dated (looks like it was built in the 70s) but it's comfortable and well-maintained. Tile on patio is slippery when wet, especially for fast-moving kids. Pool toys and kayaks included. Dive operator, grocery store, Rum Point and starfish point were all about 10 minutes away. Couldn't have picked a better place!

Our party of six included me and my husband, our two adult children, my 83 year old father and a girlfriend. We wanted a house where we could relax, enjoy each other's company, cook many of our own meals and have a beautiful setting. Far Tortuga caught my attention because of the gazebo extended out into the water and it turned out to be our favorite spot "in" the house. We each had our own bedrooms and baths and plenty of space to gather in the pool, dining room, kitchen, living room, screened back porch and gazebo. Did I mention the gazebo? We snorkeled the coral heads in back of the house and were blown away by the gorgeous sunsets each evening. The house and kitchen are very well appointed with linens, cookware, towels, beach chairs, decor, air conditioning, televisions, telephones, bicycles and kayaks. We did venture to Georgetown twice, but everything you need is nearby. Two of the island's best restaurants are close--Kaibo and Tukka. There is a dive/snorkeling outfit at Morritt's, along with a nice gift shop, liquor store and grocery store where we found everything we needed. Rum Point is nearby, too, although we didn't go that direction except for getting lost on our way to Kaibo. We only rented the main four bedroom house, but there are two cottages also on the property for larger groups. Vince, the owner, is quick to return calls or emails and booking was easy. We used McCurley's to rent our car so we were picked up and returned to the airport and our car was waiting at the house. We will definitely rent Far Tortuga if our travels ever take us back to Cayman.

Just a short drive up the road was Rum Point, where we spent time at the beach, the Wreck Bar, and Kaibo. One day we booked a private boat to explore the area, snorkel, and visit Sting Ray City (don't miss!). Some of us went hiking at the nearby Mastic Trail, and we also found time to head out to the East End, to the Reef, for drinks, and to Tukka, for dinner (excellent). We enjoyed being "away from it all", and spent all but one day on the North side entirely. We cooked many meals in the full kitchen, then dined with the beautiful ocean view in front of us. We all enjoyed a little relaxation in the gazebo and on the hammock. The pool is also a wonderful feature, especially for little ones. Vince is not kidding when he says some of the best snorkeling on the island is right off the dock of Far Tortuga. We went scuba diving on the North wall 6 times during our stay, and what we saw snorkeling at Far Tortuga was just as beautiful as the dives (only on a smaller scale). Rum Point and KaiBo (both on the North Side, 7-10 min. from Far Tortuga) both offer island BBQs certain nights of the week with ocean front dining. KaiBo was good for a quick lunch and bucket of Cayman beer. Rum Point also offers tours to Sting Ray City without having to drive 45-60 min. to the 7 Mile Beach area. For diving, we recommend Tom at Cayman Marine Lab. Vince sent us lots of information before our stay (about the house, car rentals, grocery shopping, etc.) which made it easy for us to get settled on our first day. Thanks for the tip about grocery shopping on our way in on Saturday, as many places are closed on Sundays. Vince also followed up with us after our stay to make sure that all was as expected during our stay. We hope to make it back to Far Tortuga some day!

Yours was right up there with the best of them. And when it came to organization and clarity of what to expect and how to get things done, your place was by far the best experience we have had. No hassles, a clean and ready to use house with quick, pleasant responses to all calls and inquiries. And getting the stove replaced within a day was just short of unbelievable. You and your management team are to be congratulated for such remarkable efficiency. We would happily rent your place again. And I would recommend that anyone looking for a great vacation on a wonderful Caribbean island, consider Far Tortuga villa. You will not be disappointed.

It is all that Vince and his wife describe. All updated and beautifully maintained. No worries, no unknowns. Lots of room and all decorated exquisitely. Felt like our own home, not some hotel. We ate 3 meals a day in house and loved it. Nothing like having your own cooks, waitresses, and cleanup staff. 1/3 the costs and no noise, no waiting, no tipping, and always get the best table in the place. Compare Villas and hotels and you will see that villas like this one are hands down better in every respect.

Far Tortuga exceeded the expectations of everyone in our group of 13. The location is perfect for those who want a quiet, peaceful time on the island. The house was spacious - there was plenty of room for everyone to spend time together and large enough for people to spend time apart from one another. The property was clean and very well maintained. The kitchen was extraordinarily well stocked and had all the dishes, pots, pans, utensils and appliances we could possibly need. There were plenty of towels and the washer and dryer was a great convenience. Anything we needed was supplied - even a high chair and pack-n-play for our 9 month old grandchild. The snorkeling was great and we never got tired of seeing the profusion of fish and coral right behind the house. We took two excursions - to Stingray City (a great treat) and the Turtle Farm (I was wary but it turned out to be great.) Other than that, snorkeling, shell collecting, crab watching, kayaking, walks on the beach, spending time in the pool, and just lazing around were more than enough for us to have a great, great vacation. The gazebo became our go to place to hang out when we weren't in or on the water. The cooling breezes made it a pleasant place to rest, gaze out at the water, sip a drink or take in a sunrise or sunset. All in all, Far Tortuga is a 10!

Truly paradise is the only way to describe this property and its location. Pictures do not do it justice. We were 14 people ranging in ages from 6-50 and no one felt crowded. The property is extremely well maintained and clean. Vince was extremely helpful and all of his suggestions were spot on. Our group enjoyed snorkeling, swimming, beachcombing all without leaving the property. When we did venture out, we enjoyed dining at Over the Edge and at the Reef ( go on a Thursday night so you can enjoy local musician The Barefoot Man). Rum Point, Sting Ray City and the Blow Holes are also must sees. I definitely recommend this property and my family and I look forward to returning to it in the future.
“Amazing week at Far Tortuga”out of 5

Our stay at Far Tortuga was amazing!!! The house was perfect for our group of 14 adults. We were there to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday as well as my 2 brother-in-laws 40th birthday. We would start our day with a cup of coffee at the gazebo at the end of the dock. It was heavenly. Some in our group were very much into the snorkeling so they would spend hours off the dock exploring the reef, while others enjoyed spending time in the pool. The screened porch was perfect for the one rainy day we had. We are so glad that we took advantage of the service of having our groceries delivered before we arrived. We cooked all of our meals, except for one, at the house. The house had all the necessary kitchen appliances and kitchen ware. It was great taking turns cooking while enjoying a glass of wine. We rented our cars from McCurley's so it was a treat getting picked up at the airport and having our cars waiting for us at the house. We all went to Seven Mile beach just to see what the hype was. It took us over an hour to get there. The water was great but we preferred the beach at Rum Point. The beach at Rum Point is just as beautiful and felt more relaxing. It also happens to be a 10 minute drive from Far Tortuga. As a special treat, on the morning of our departure date, we had a huge spotted sting ray hang out on the side of the dock. I think the string ray came to tell us to come back soon ? We are so glad that we stayed on the north side of the island and even happier that we stayed at Far Tortuga. We are already making plans to come back to Far Tortuga with our children. Vince was great to work with as we planned this trip and we appreciate all the useful information he provided us to make our week at Far Tortuga extra special. Thanks Vince.

This was hands down our favorite vacation to date. This is the one place so far that we would go back to time and time again. This home has lots of space, great pool and the best equipped kitchen of any vacation home we have rented. We also took advantage of McCurley's car rental service and that was definitely the right thing to do. Thanks Vince and Debanne for sharing your home with us.

My family spent a week at Far Tortuga. All twelve of us found comfortable beds and we all loved the house. It really was perfect - spacious and comfortable. Some of us explored the island more than others but we were all pretty content just to be at Far Tortuga. It was the best family vacation we have had. Some wonderful services (recommended by Far Tortuga's owner) were offered by locals. Eddie Ebanks (Hurley's Supermarket) brought groceries and put them away and they were there waiting for us when we arrived. The MacCurleys (car rental) were terrific, and a real hoot besides. The ladies at Cayman Traditional Catering cooked three meals for us from their wonderful list of suggestions - they brought delicious food to the house, cooked it there, and cleaned up afterward. All of this added to a stress-free holiday. The weather was good. The gazebo is to dream about. The snorkeling right by the house is the best on the island. We loved being on the less-busy north side of Grand Cayman. There are a number of good restaurants nearby. We loved Grand Cayman and Far Tortuga. I hope we can come back sometime.

Our family of eight recently had the pleasure of staying at Far Tortuga. It was so wonderful that we are planning next year's trip. The trip was especially important for my Mom, who had just finished many months of chemotherapy, physical therapy and countless doctors' appointments and was scheduled to begin six weeks of radiation three days after our return from Cayman. It also was a respite for my Dad. As soon as we returned home from Far Tortuga, we decided we had to go back. This trip was therapeutic for all! When you walked through the front door of the house, the view "knocks your socks off". So, much so, that you really never want to leave. The home was equipped with everything anyone could possibly need! The view was magnificent, the sunsets gorgeous and the snorkeling was very colorful with many species of fish and underwater scenery. Dick and I have snorkeled for over 40 years, in many locations and this was amazing. We all enjoyed the gazebo which was prime space for sunrises, sunsets, and naps. The gazebo ladder also provides easy access to the water for snorkeling and swimming. It was convenient to Rum Point and we discovered Kurt's Corner Restaurant on Frank Sound Road. There was also a small store just a few steps away from the home for the little things...milk, bread, ice cream, newspaper. Your Manager, Roy, was so helpful and accommodating. Dick and I were already on-island staying at the Morritts' and had to check out by 11:00. Roy was kind enough to let us drop off our luggage around noon so that we could pick up our families with their luggage who were arriving on three different flights. We also had the opportunity to meet Jennifer who works with Roy and she was also extremely helpful. The Voip system is a nice amenity; when you need to be in touch with others in the us. This was our third trip to Grand Cayman and the Northside is the place to be and Far Tortuga is the place to stay.
“A grand time in Grand Cayman”out of 5

As a family of 13, when we plan a vacation, all are involved. Our family selected this site for its location (far from the crowds), for the possibility for quality family time, and for the promise of adventure. We all concluded it was perfect. We have been to Grand Cayman before, so the refreshing difference between Far Tortuga on the North side and Seven Mile Beach (previous vacation) was the first favorable attraction. Then, Far Tortuga was ideal in its floor plan (8 adults and 5 small children). We were together often but could spread out for naps, etc. The amenities of having a private pool, a gazebo with hammock, and the best snorkeling right off the dock (equal if not better than hiring a dive boat) made all of us ecstatic. During our trip, we used Catering Cayman for a few meals (a real treat -crab cakes, conch fritters, black bean soup, Cayman shrimp - some of our favorites), had several sand castle building contests, and snorkeled every day off the dock. We would ventured beyond the break water (about 100-150 yards) where we saw eels, barracudas, a few nurse sharks, and a plethora of fish and good reef. We later found, because of some shallow areas around the dock, that the best access was at a 45 degree angle (either way) from the gazebo. We used the bikes and kayaks, ate out only once at Tukka Restaurant (better for groups with kids). The kitchen at Far Tortuga was well furnished, so we took turns cooking on three nights. The kids visited Turtle Farm and loved it. Far Tortuga was clean and well-maintained. The owners have a complete list of fabulous and efficient people who can help you with everything you'll need. As to photos of the place, my daughter-in-law commented that the house was even more magnificent than the pictures. We have traveled several times together. This trip to Far Tortuga in Grand Cayman was a 10+ !!!

When 12 of us arrived in Grand Cayman we were greeted with blue skies and a bright warm sun. When we arrived at our home, for the week, we were greeted with a large, clean home. And a view that took our breath away. The rest of our stay was packed filled with snorkeling and relaxing right outside our back door. At the end of the week we were concerned that we would not be able to get home because of a large snow storm off the east coast. We expressed that concern with the owner of our rental and he was more than kind and accommodating with our dilemma. We would love to go back someday but for now we have great memories to look back on.

highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a great vacation in the Cayman's. The location on the north end is quiet and relaxing with plenty of great restaurants and things to do. We came to Grand Cayman last year and stayed in Cayman Kai which was a terrific location but we felt this house and location was the best for snorkeling right in front of the house(which is what we came for). The water was the perfect depth for everyone and there was beautiful sea life everywhere. The gazebo and dock were great and the house was beautiful inside. More ++++ There was instructions to work the T.V.'s, where to eat, and ideas for entertainment. We had wi-fi and a U.S. telephone which made is feel more comfortable to be able to keep in touch with our relatives at home. We will definitely be reserving this house again if we return to Cayman(Hopefully sooner than later)

We left a picture of their wedding day at Far Tortuga on the cork board. We did dive with Ocean Frontiers and had a great time. Thanks for the suggestion. We ate many times at The Edge and never a bad meal there in the 3 years we have eaten there. We did get to eat at the Lighthouse this year. That was a meal we will never forget, just an awesome time. We all agreed this year was the best trip of all times. We snorkeled everyday, enjoyed the pool, the view. By far this is the best location of all that we have ever rented. We just got back from a great week at Far Tortuga. We were greeted by the car service which promptly took us to Far Tortuga where we had two rental cars waiting for us. There were 8 of us (6 adults and 2 kids) - we came in from various parts of the country (Idaho, pa, and NY) to meet. The place was well equipped with everything you need for both the adults (big kids) and the little ones, ages 2 & 4. They loved the pool and beach while we enjoyed snorkeling out front of the house and chilling in the hammock on the dock. Very relaxing spot away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag (seven mile beach). Would highly recommend this villa for families or just a group of adults.
