I’d Like that Prepared “Cayman Style” Please!

Lobster Cayman Style
“Lobster Cayman Style”

A fresh catch from the Caribbean sauteed with scotch bonnet peppers, tomatoes, and onions served up with side of fried plantains and red beans and rice.  The catch may be lobster, mahi mahi, red snapper, or even turtle.  That’s cooking “Cayman-style.”

After being colonized first by Jamaica then by British, Cayman Islands remained under British dependency since 1962. Traditional Cayman Islands cuisine is very tied to Jamaican cuisine and they also kept British influences in their cooking, but you can as well find a large variety of international dishes with a local twist.

If you’re visiting the North Side or East End of Grand Cayman, one of the best ways to experience authentic Cayman-style cooking is to have one of two local cooks, Stephanie McLean (chefstefcayman@gmail.com) or Rosie Paris at (terrypqueen@yahoo.com), come to your villa and cook it fresh for you and your family.  Both women have been cooking for our Grand Cayman Villas and Condos guests for years and receiving great reviews.  They will shop for the ingredients and arrive in the afternoon and get to work preparing a delicious dinner that every member of your villa will enjoy regardless of age.  They will also clean up afterward while you enjoy dessert.

Another great way to experience Grand Cayman!
