Thanksgiving

Most of Cayman’s restaurants in the Eastern Districts and Seven Mile Beach offer traditional Thanksgiving fare in addition to their regular menus.

There’s also the option of hiring a personal chef or purchasing a prepared feast from Kirk’s Market, The Ritz, or Chicken Chicken in West Bay.

Saturday, November 18th is the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Caymana Bay.  Camana Bay’s outdoor Paseo is transformed into a magical Wonderland with thousands of sparkling lights. The Cayman National Choir is present to give an inspiring performance.  If you’re staying in Cayman Kai, North Side, or East End, reserve a private boat charter for a memorable evening trip across the North Sound to watch the Tree Lighting.  You may also take Cayman Ferries which leaves from the Kaibo dock. Christmas

December 2nd will mark the Cayman 27 Parade of Lights.  This also takes place at Camana Bay.  Thousands watch as beautifully lit boats sail into the harbour and compete for the title of the most magically decorated boat.  The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display.

Boxing Day, Please be aware when planning activities that Tuesday, the day after Christmas on December 26th, is also a Cayman holiday.  Some businesses, not all, are closed that day.

New Year’s Eve

Fireworks are plentiful on Seven Mile Beach hosted by The Kimpton Hotel, The Ritz, the Grand Old House in George Town and two displays (7pm and midnight) at Camana Bay.   Folks staying in the East End will be able to catch a smaller, yet impressive, fireworks show at the Morritt’s Tortuga Club.

I recommend having dinner at the Kaibo or the Rum Point Club in Cayman Kai.  Please make your reservations now! Anywhere in Cayman Kai will have an excellent view of the Camana Bay fireworks that night.
