A Parent’s Guide to Visiting Grand Cayman
For a lot of us, a family vacation just isn’t complete without the whole family. But it’s undeniable that traveling with children in tow opens up a whole host of new questions–after all, it’s their holiday too, and while grownups may be happy lounging poolside and catching up on their beauty rest, the little ones are going to want a little more stimulation! Taking the kids out during the day ensures that everyone gets to relax by cocktail hour, and provides the whole family with memories that will last a lifetime.
With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of great, kid-friendly activities for your trip to Grand Cayman.
Red Sail Sports
A perennial favorite for guests of all ages, Red Sail Sports offers activities for beachgoers of any size. Very small children may enjoy the glass-bottom boat tour, while kids 5 and up will get absolute thrills from a banana boat ride! From waverunners and sail excursions to snorkeling equipment and beach toys, Red Sail offers anything the family could ask for. For prices, contact information and locations, check out their website! http://www.redsailcayman.com/
Dolphins are intriguing creatures at any age, but children seem to have a special love for our flippered friends! At dolphin discovery, kids can get up close and personal with dolphins or stingrays during one of several excursions for an experience they’ll never forget!
Cayman Turtle Farm
The turtle farm is a recurring family favorite! Kids can learn about and observe sea turtles up close, make some friends at the Turtle Touch Tanks, swim or snorkel with yearling green sea turtles and other colourful marine life and even peer into a predator tank–and much more! It’s a great excursion for kids of all ages.
Pirates of the Caymans Cruise
For your little swashbuckler, nothing could be more exciting than a true Pirate’s Cruise with Pirates of the Caymans! From their website: “Take a two hour costal tour back in time a few centuries as you watch our crew reenact pirate trials, sword fights, wage attacks on in-port cruise ships and other swashbuckling antics. Kids and adults alike will love helping hoist the mainsail, firing the canon and walking the plank!
Don’t forget to bring your snorkel and swimsuit! We’ll be making a 40 minute swim stop so you can explore the spectacular reefs and explore the exotic sea life our beautiful island offers. Grown-up swashbucklers will enjoy our complimentary Rum Punch – while the wee-ones may enjoy the “rumless” version.”
Pirates of the Caymans is great fun for the whole family. For reservations:
